Wellness Services

Health risk assessments provide a systematic way to collect information about lifestyle factors that might put the health of your employees at risk. Our wellness coaches provide personal feedback to your employees and link each one to at least one intervention to promote better health, sustain good health or prevent disease.  The assessments are also compiled in a report to give a general overview of the health of your employees.

A typical health risk assessment collects demographic information (gender, age), lifestyle (smoking, exercise, alcohol consumption, diet), and personal and family medical history. The assessment is a tool to gather more information in conjunction with your wellness screening event.

Taking busy lifestyles into account, HRA reports are provided in a format of their choosing. This allows them to learn about their results at a time and place best for them, increasing the likelihood that they understand the results and take any needed follow-up action.

Options for follow up include:

• Workplace presentation
• Individual consultations in person or by phone 
• Customized mailing to individuals’ homes
• Group results presented to corporate administration or company wellness committee

A Parkview Workplace Wellness coach can assist your employees in discovering new ways to inspire healthier habits by promoting wellness and helping them reach their best health and well-being. Our coaches are available to educate employees on the following topics:

• Sleep

Coaching services are offered on-site or virtually by an assigned coach for a specified number of hours per week.

Diabetes Prevention

A six-week program with an interactive approach to diabetes prevention focusing on your employees and providing information and activities on nutrition, physical activity, mental and emotional health, and boundaries.

Freedom From Smoking®

A six-week program developed by the American Lung Association to help your employees quit smoking. Certified facilitators teach this course.

Stress Management

A six-week interactive program providing lifelong strategies to tackle stress. Behavior change will be facilitated through activities such as meditation and journaling while helping your employees discover the root causes of their stress and teaching them healthy ways to manage their everyday stressors.

The Road to Wellness

A seven-week interactive group program that addresses different components of well-being. Self-reflection and goal setting will guide your employees to make the changes necessary to lead a whole and fulfilled life.

Weight Management

A six-week program geared toward improving overall wellness by learning how to achieve and maintain a healthy weight through simple lifestyle changes. Sessions provide discussion around barriers to success and brainstorming ways to put what you’ve learned into practical use.

Parkview Workplace Wellness staff members are American Heart Association Heartsaver instructors, offering certification courses at your workplace.

Biometric Data Collection

Parkview Workplace Wellness professionals will provide biometric measurements at your worksite. Collecting this information from your employees can help determine the health status of individuals within your workforce.  This information can be used to help determine the focus of a wellness program.

Measurements can include, but are not limited to:

  • Folate – helps make red blood cells, a decrease in folate can cause anemia, diseases of the heart and blood vessels, and defects in the brain and spinal cord in a fetus
  • Iron – helps with energy production and muscle and organ function
  • Vitamin B-12 - helps body function and stay healthy, not enough B-12 can cause certain types of anemia and neurological disorders
  • Vitamin D – naturally produced by the body in reaction to sunlight, helps the body use calcium for the development of strong bones

Employees who have results showing a critical level are contacted by a physician on our medical staff.

Employees should plan to share all results with their family physician and often can save money on the health plan because tests do not need to be repeated.
